The map was drawn by the Japanese monk Rōkashi, and showed a Buddhist worldview with the motif of Buddhist classics and Chinese literature. With the folding fan shape, it depicts the Indian subcontinent as the center of the world, with a detailed description of traditional Japanese 'three kingdoms': India, China, and Japan, including the real geographic names, and names form myths and legends, as well as those from Buddhist scriptures. Although there is no marks about the names of the continents, other parts of Asia and the rest of the world beyond: Europe is drawn into a series of islands located in the northwest, and across the sea to the south lies Africa; South America is drawn in the southeast of the ocean; all the continents, except North America, is drawn roughly correct. We can see the western influence from the map. Besides, the sizes of all continents except Asia's land are greatly reduced. Because the mapmaker was more familiar with China and Japan, the provinces of the two countries were depicted with colors, and the important places were marked with scarlet or white handwritten annotations. It is worth noting that an island lies on the right side of Guangzhou Fu as ' 香山 文天祥址' (Site of Xiangshan Wen Tianxiangs); stretching into the sea to the southeast, an island is emblazoned with “阿媽港” (A-ma Prot) in Japanese Katakana and with a note of “…長身”, with a vermilion annotated ' 南蠻人仕配ス'. “Nanman” was the name of Portugal and other European from the 16th to 17th centuries in Japan. So it can be assumed that the comment refers to the Portuguese sovereignty here, namely, the island of Macau.
